About dnyay!

Welcome to dnyay!, the place to celebrate nature's unique pattern by bringing you and your loved one's DNA to life.

What is more precious than the fabric that makes up who you are? DNA fingerprinting is a fascinating science that reveals the beauty of your individual DNA patterns for both aesthetic and safety purposes. Dnyay uses state of the art laboratory equipment and a secure environment to isolate and identify your unique DNA pattern. Your DNA sequence is then transferred to a photograph either by itself, or onto a special photograph of your choosing. Please see the examples of our artfully designed DNA portraits.

Why obtain a sample of you or your loved ones' DNA?

There are many reasons why a DNA fingerprint is desired:

What is a DNA fingerprint?

DNA Fingerprinting is a method of identification that compares fragments of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). It is sometimes called DNA typing. DNA is the genetic material found within the cell nuclei of all living things. In mammals the strands of DNA are grouped into structures called chromosomes. With the exception of identical twins, the complete DNA of each individual is unique.

How does it work?

The DNA is collected using a standard non-invasive saliva collection kit used by laboratories and forensic teams. This kit will be sent to you via mail, and once the saliva is collected, place it in the pre-paid, pre addressed envelope and send it back to us, where your DNA is processed. Depending on which package you choose, your unique specimen will be tailored to your specifications and delivered.

Who is dnyay?

My name is Cheri, and I am a biotechnology graduate student in Northridge, California. After spending time as an intern at a genetic engineering laboratory, I gained the experience, knowledge, and wonder of working with DNA. I thought of this idea after producing a picture of my own DNA, and thinking of how I would love to give to others the excitement I felt at looking at the fabric of my being for the first time. Every penny of my earnings from dnyay goes to pay for college tuition. I eventually aspire to obtain my PhD when I am finished with graduate school, and would like to work in the medical field in order to assist with raising the quality of life for those with genetic diseases.
